It was recently announced that President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) — a condition we see and treat all the time at Advanced Foot Care.
So, what is CVI? And why you should be informed about it?

What Is CVI?
CVI happens when the veins in your legs have trouble sending blood back up to your heart. Instead, blood pools in the legs, causing:
- Swelling
- Achy, heavy legs
- Varicose veins
- Skin changes or even sores if left untreated
- Diabetes may lead to further complications
It’s very common, especially as we age.
Why Trump’s Diagnosis Matters
Trump is nearly 80 and still constantly on the move. Even with his energy, his veins are showing signs of strain. If he can have CVI, so can the rest of us — especially if we stand or sit a lot, or have a family history of vein problems.
What You Can Do
The good news? CVI is treatable.
At Advanced Foot Care, we can help with:
- Simple, non-invasive vein checks
- Compression socks
- Referrals for adequate treatment of veins
- Wound care management
You don’t have to live with heavy, swollen legs. If your legs are tired, achy, or just don’t feel right, let us take a look.
