About Dr. Junaid Akbar
Dr. Junaid Akbar earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at NYCPM and went on to complete his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, part of Northwell Health—an institution nationally recognized for its orthopedic joint program and comprehensive vascular care.
He specializes in treating a wide range of conditions, including bunions, fractures, hammertoes, complex skin conditions, and many other podiatric pathologies. His expertise includes minimally invasive surgery, limb salvage, and at-risk foot management, with a strong focus on preserving mobility, preventing complications, and improving long-term outcomes. Staying up to date with the latest treatment protocols allows him to incorporate advanced, evidence-based methods to achieve better outcomes for his patients.
Outside of work, he is a devoted son, husband, and father of two who values quality time with his family. He enjoys cycling, traveling, watching sports, and exploring diverse cuisines. He is an active member of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association and remains engaged with fellow podiatrists and orthopedic surgeons to continually advance the profession and improve patient outcomes.
