About Dr. Justin Karp

Dr. Justin Karp is a podiatrist specializing in both conservative and surgical management of a wide range of conditions, including plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammertoes, foot and ankle fractures, tendon injuries, sports-related conditions, deformity correction, and complex rearfoot and ankle pathology. He completed his surgical residency at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, a Level 1 trauma center recognized for its comprehensive training in reconstruction, trauma, and limb salvage. Dr. Karp earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he was a member of the Pi Delta National Podiatric Honor Society.

His clinical expertise includes minimally invasive surgery (MIS), arthroscopy, forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, ankle fracture fixation, Achilles tendon repair, and complex reconstructive procedures. He also has significant experience in wound care and limb preservation, including advanced biologics, skin grafting techniques, and negative pressure wound therapy. Dr. Karp served as Chief Resident, where he played a central leadership role in coordinating surgical scheduling, overseeing resident education, and organizing academic programming. He remains committed to ongoing research and continuing medical education, ensuring he stays at the forefront of evidence-based and evolving foot and ankle care. His treatment philosophy emphasizes a personalized, patient-centered approach.

He recognizes that every patient is unique and tailors treatment plans to each individual’s lifestyle, goals, and functional needs with the goal of restoring mobility, reducing pain, and helping patients safely return to their daily activities. Originally from Long Island, New York, Dr. Justin Karp values an active and well-balanced lifestyle. Outside of medicine, he is a musician who enjoys playing guitar, songwriting, and performing live. He also participates in Spartan races and Tough Mudder events, and enjoys international travel. His active lifestyle reinforces his commitment to helping patients regain mobility and return to the activities they enjoy.
