Plantar fasciosis

Heel pain is one of the most common reasons patients come to our offices at Advanced Podiatry. Many patients come in with heel pain that has been present for months, or years and have tried many treatments without success. Chronic plantar fasciitis if allowed to persist can go on to plantar fasciosis which is a degenerative condition of the plantar fascia.

Plantar fasciosis Is best diagnosed using diagnostic ultrasound in our office. Treatments for plantar fasciitis are often ineffective for plantar fasciosis.

At Advanced Podiatry our go-to, first line, treatment for plantar fasciosis is Extracorporal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT). ESWT arrived in the United States in 2001. It involves the application of pneumatic shockwaves similar to the waves used to break down kidney stones. Advanced Podiatry of Manhasset, Huntington, Coram, Woodbury, Mineola, Williston Park, Maspeth & Ronkonkoma uses the EPAT shockwave machine, which is non-invasive to treat this chronic heel pain problem.

If you suffer from chronic heel pain please call one of our Advanced Podiatry offices in Manhasset, Huntington, Coram, Woodbury, Mineola, Williston Park, Maspeth & Ronkonkoma and one of our award-winning expert podiatrists will be happy to evaluate your problem and help you choose the treatment that is best suited to treat your problem.
